The Breaking Point of Love Chapter 70: Celeste’s Vigilance vs. Beck’s Timely Rescue

Celeste agreed.

Jordyn then asked Celeste to send her to school tomorrow.

Celeste promised she would.

She hadn’t seen Jordyn for almost ten days since visiting the hot spring retreat, so she stayed at the villa that night.

But she didn’t sleep in the master bedroom.

Instead, she chose to stay in the same room as Jordyn.

The last time Celeste had stayed with Jordyn was when Jordyn had been sick. This time, Jordyn wasn’t ill, and she didn’t even ask Celeste to stay with her.

Jordyn noticed Celeste showering in her bathroom. It seemed like Celeste had deliberately chosen to stay there for the night. Jordyn found it odd that Celeste hadn’t returned to the room she shared with Trevor.

She actually liked sleeping with Celeste—it felt cozy and warm to cuddle up with her. So, Jordyn didn’t voice her question.

Since Celeste was staying with her for the night, Jordyn had to be careful when saying goodnight to Wynn. She didn’t want Celeste to find out, as it would have caused trouble.

It was around 11:00 p.m. when Celeste went to bed. Trevor still hadn’t returned. She only realized the next morning that he had been out all night.

Celeste recalled the last time she saw Trevor—yesterday at the elevator. He had been leaving with Wynn.

If that was the case, Trevor had probably spent the night with Wynn…

Emerging from her thoughts, Celeste sent Jordyn off to school and went to work at YodaVision Co.

Jordyn’s affection was obviously still directed at Wynn instead of Celeste. Her need for Celeste was sporadic. If Jordyn hadn’t seen Celeste for a while, or if Trevor and the others weren’t around, she’d get bored and forget about her.

After her injury fully healed, Jordyn wouldn’t call her every day like before. She wouldn’t even ask why Celeste wasn’t coming home at night. Trevor, on the other hand, never cared about her whereabouts.

YodaVision Co. had recently sealed two big deals and received significant payments. Thus, on Friday, the company decided to organize a team-building event.

The employees voted on the destination, and everyone agreed on a hot springs trip.

Celeste was a little surprised when she received the news, then smiled bitterly.

Matthias asked, “Why the long face? Don’t you want to go to the hot spring?”

“It’s not that,” Celeste said, recalling how Trevor and Jordyn had left her alone at the hot spring retreat two weeks ago. It had felt like yesterday, though it had actually been a fortnight ago.

Time really did fly. Although Celeste didn’t feel like going, she decided to join the trip. After all, it was the first team-building event after her return to the company.

The hot spring retreat she had visited last time had been private property owned by the Fleming family. This time, the destination was a massive hot spring resort with all kinds of amenities.

After changing into a bathrobe, she walked to the hot spring pool.

Celeste didn’t see her colleagues there when she arrived. She had barely soaked for a minute when she noticed a little girl, about the same age as Jordyn, squatting by the pool. The girl was curiously reaching her hand toward the water.

The pool depth was around four feet, and the little girl didn’t appear taller than four feet.

Celeste worried she might fall in. As she stood up, she heard a splash…

The little girl had indeed fallen into the pool.

Celeste quickly rushed over and pulled her up, holding her in her arms.

The little girl wrapped her arms around Celeste’s neck, crying and coughing, her face turning red. Celeste patted her back lightly, comforting her while inquiring about her family and bringing her to the staff.

As they reached the gate, Celeste spotted Beck in the distance. Before she could react, the little girl in her arms started crying again, reaching out toward Beck.

“Uncle Beck…”
